1. Full Linux Support Is Here!

Check out our new web pages on Linux! It is the latest alternative to the
Microsoft operating system. We now have Linux documentation and a mirrorsite
for Red Hat Linux software. Mike Radomski, our new Linux support person,has
been busy putting together our new Linux web pages and Red Hat Linux mirror
site. We are currently supporting Red Hat Ver.6 for both the Alpha andIntel
platforms. We think you'll like it!

Questions can be submitted to "SCSYS@ITEC.SUNY.EDU".If you have any existing
support agreement with ITEC then your Linux support is included. Check usout

2. Digital Unix Ver 4.0B Not Y2KCompliant!

If you are using Digital Unix make sure you are at Ver 4.0C or higher.
Actually the latest version now called TRU64 Unix is Version 4.0F.

4. What's New for ITEC's CBTWeb?

CBTWeb 4.11:
As of July 9, 1999, ITEC CBTWeb servers have been upgraded from CBTWebversion
4.01 to version 4.11. This latest version of CBTWeb can be obtained at the
ITEC'S CBTWeb GETSOFTWARE page. Just download CBTWEB411(application) and
CBT411INSTALL (installation doc). Also, CBTWeb version 4.11 is needed forthe
new CBTWeb Microsoft Office 2000 courses.

CBTWeb Course Fixes:

> It has come to ITEC's attention that two UNIX courses were missing from azip
file at our CBT GETSOFTWARE page. These two courses are now available undera
new zip file and can now be downloaded from our CBT GETSOFTWARE page. Thenew
UNIX_7 zip file includes UNIX: Process and Data Utilities (ungn05e), andUNIX:
The User Environment (ungn06e).

> The following problem has been encountered in the DOWNLOAD Option of
MICROSOFT OFFICE 97: Intermediate Excel 97 course.

The Problem:
USING THE DRAWING TOOLS, 9: HANDS-ON: CHANGING A 3-D SHAPE (screen 9 of 9),
when you select "done" and then "show me" an error messageappears.

The Solution:
Go to ITEC's CBT GETSOFTWARE web page and download OFFICE97_3 which
contains a good working copy of this course (DOWNLOAD ONLY).

5. Product/Operating System: OracleProducts onMicrosoft Windows 3.1 and 3.11

Error Correction ends on: May 1, 2000
Extended Assistance ends on: May 1, 2003

Product Obsolescence/ Desupport Summary:
Oracle Corporation formally announces the end of Error Correction for all
Oracle products on Microsoft Windows 3.1 and Microsoft Windows 3.11,effective
May 1, 2000.

Product Obsolescence/ Desupport Details:
Oracle Corporation recommends that all customers running currentlysupported
Oracle products on Microsoft Windows 3.1 and Microsoft Windows 3.11 migrateto
a more recent Microsoft Operating System ('OS') due to limitations in the
Microsoft Windows 3.1 and Microsoft Windows 3.11 environments.

Extended Assistance Support will be provided for 3 years after Oraclemetals
Support ends to those customers who are unable to upgrade to a more recent
Microsoft OS before May 1, 2000. Extended Assistance Support allowscustomers
to obtain telephone and electronic support. This support consists of the
following:

* Answers to customer's questions
* Access to known workarounds
* Assistance with migration path information

Extended Assistance Support does not include:

* Software error correction support
* Backporting of fixes
* Certification with supported products or newer operating system releases
* Escalation Support, guaranteed response times or skill availability
