The academic SolidWorks 2009-10 has been released as of April 2009.
The new EDU Release is 2009-10 SP0 and it is not compatible with the commercial version that is on the market. SolidWorks EDU software cannot open SolidWorks commercial files. The commercial release that is currently available is 2009 sp3.
