1 OpenVMS Connectivity Developer Guide

The OpenVMS Connectivity Developer Guide contains information about COM for OpenVMS and the OpenVMS Registry. This document is designed for the following readers:

• Developers who are creating COM for OpenVMS applications, and who want to install and configure COM for OpenVMS, to create COM clients and servers, and to register and remove servers.
• Developers and system managers who need to start and configure the Registry for OpenVMS, modify OpenVMS Registry keys or values through Win32 APIs or through the OpenVMS Registry system service, or perform OpenVMS Registry maintenance. (These tasks can apply to COM for OpenVMS or to PATHWORKS.)

The OpenVMS Connectivity Developer Guide is available from the following locations:

• OpenVMS Version 7.2---EFT3 CDROM
  The OpenVMS Connectivity Developer Guide is automatically installed as part of the COM for OpenVMS installation process. The Guide is available in HTML, PS, and PDF formats.
• OpenVMS website
  If you do not want to install the COM for OpenVMS component but need the OpenVMS Registry information, you can also view and download the OpenVMS Connectivity Developer Guide from the OpenVMS website at the following location:
